Inspired by a lovely wilderness-filled summer haunted by the calls of a pair of these tiny “cat-faced” owls, whose eyes seem to be the biggest part of their bodies. Found throughout the United States and southern Canada, this little Saw-whet owl will feel at home just about anywhere. As a lover of birds with a special soft spot for owls, I was more than surprised when this soft but vibrantly-colored pastel practically jumped off the paper at me. This large 9×12 pastel painting fits into a 11×14 frame, but opt for a larger one with plenty of matting and it will become the focal point of an entire wall. $225.00
Does not include S&H or matting & framing.
These four original detailed soft pastel portraits of native songbirds (Cedar Waxwing, Cassin’s Kingbird, Barn Swallow, and Hooded Oriole) are matted and signed by me. Visually stunning when hung together. Dimensions: 9×12.
$150.00 each or $550.00 for all four original paintings! Shipping not included.

When we moved into our new place a couple years ago, my husband and I found two weathered and stained cow skulls that had been hidden in the tall weeds of the side yard. Not knowing exactly where they fit into our landscape, they were repeatedly moved around the perimeter of the house until finally, they wound up on a shelf in the workshop where they sat for the better part of two years. I had been saying all along that I wanted to paint them, but just never seemed to get around to it.
Wow! I love it! What a great job! He looks so sweet!
Dear Jill, I wanted to let you know we got Milo’s picture. It’s fantastic. You really captured his spirit in his eyes and his smile is perfect. Thanks so much for the effort you put into it.
Dear Jill…. Ali made my wife cry. You really captured [his] essence.
Dear Jill, I received the pastels today. They were awesome!
